We know that Kiddie Campers can't enjoy all of the things that the older kids do, so we've created a different program for their age group, and, we've reduced the tuition accordingly. We develop weekly themes that keep your pre-schooler engaged and having fun.
Alternate between regular day camp or sports camp. Swimming instruction each morning, and free swim in the afternoons. Air conditioned facilities; special events and field trips to historical places or baseball games and canoeing on the lake! Sanford Camps has it all!
We cover the most popular sports with kids like volleyball, cross county, basketball, golf and so much more. Due to the pandemic, we have a modified schedule that keeps the campers outdoors, which you can view by clicking on the Find Out More button below.
We are not just a traditional day camp;
we also have some really cool specialty programs such as tumbling camp, yoga and more,
which keep the kids involved and active while providing education at the same time!
You can purchase lunch in combination with any camp program. Campers can change their choices each week with advance notice. Many children bring their lunch from home, in which case a beverage of juice or milk is served by courtesy of the camp. Check out the menu!
Our extended care options are either on-site in Hockessin, or at our remote transportation location in N. Wilmington. On-site extended care is available weekly by mornings, afternoons or both. Our N. Wilmington location is a total package of mornings, afternoons and transportation to/from the camp.
Please reach us at info@sanfordcamps.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We accept campers from 3.5 years up to 14 years old.
Half day sessions are ONLY offered to campers attending Sanford School summer enrichment courses. If you registered for any of our half day sports or specialty camps, you can add a half day as well. NO OTHER HALF DAY SESSIONS ARE OFFERED AT THIS TIME.
We will follow all CDC and the state of Delaware's recommendations. We will notify parents prior to May 25, 2023 which date is our full refund cancellation date.
Our CIT (counselor in training) program is designed for high school students who are not old enough or ready to apply for a regular summer job. Each CIT will be placed with a counselor and function as a counselor’s helper. Here's the application link.
Sanford’s Adventure Camp is designed for pre-teens and early teens going into the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Your middle schooler will automatically be put into this group if they are the proper age and grade, so you don’t have to request this designation. It is a coed group that enjoys additional privileges due to their age and maturity. The counselors are usually middle school or high school teachers. This group does not have to attend morning line-up, has a special activity room separate from the other campers, has their own space for lunch and takes additional field trips and activities which are designed for older campers. So, if your child feels that he or she is “too old” for day camp, hopefully they will give the adventure camp a try.
